Tickets and fares
All customers must have a valid ticket or pass before boarding a train. If both the ticket office and ticket vending machines are closed or not operating, you need to buy a ticket when you reach your destination.
Ticket office windows
To assist customers who use a hearing aid, most ticket office windows at our stations have a hearing induction loop. Some stations have lower counter height for easier wheelchair access.
Evidence of disability
CityRail recognises the Roads and Traffic Authority Mobility Parking Scheme card as evidence of a disability or mobility restriction.
Vision Impaired Person Travel Pass
People who are blind or severely vision-impaired, and live permanently in NSW or the ACT, may be entitled to an interim or permanent Vision Impaired Person Travel Pass. This permit entitles the holder (and an attendant, if applicable) to free travel on CityRail services.
Wide Gate Access Card
If you are unable to use electronic barriers, you can apply for a Wide Gate Access Card. This card should be presented along with your valid ticket to use the wide gate to enter or exit the paid area of the station.
For more information about permits and passes call Passes and Concessions on 1300 302 130. For information about fares and types of tickets visit Tickets and Fares.
