Commemorative train tickets

If you are not registered to participate in World Youth Day 2008 with the Catholic Church, but are planning to attend one of the major events, pre-purchase a special day return WYD08 commemorative train ticket.

The ticket covers your train journey to and from the city and unlimited travel around the CBD on either Thursday 17, Friday 18, Saturday 19 or Sunday 20 July.

How much do they cost?

Where can I buy them?
They are available via pre-purchase from Monday 16 June to Wednesday 16 July at the following CityRail ticket offices. Tickets cannot be purchased on the day of travel.

Suburban Ashfield, Bankstown, Blacktown, Bondi Junction, Cabramatta, Campbelltown, Campsie, Chatswood, Cronulla, East Hills, Epping, Fairfield, Glenfield, Gordon, Granville, Hornsby, Hurstville, Kingsgrove, Kogarah, Liverpool, Mount Druitt, Newtown, North Sydney, Parramatta, Penrith, Rockdale, St Marys, St Leonards, Seven Hills, Strathfield, Sutherland, Riverwood and Riverstone.

What else you need to know

  • Unlimited travel around the CBD (being Redfern, Central, Town Hall, Wynyard, Circular Quay, St James, Museum, Milsons Point, North Sydney, Martin Place and Kings Cross).
  • Additional tickets are required for each day of travel.
  • Ticket is not valid for travel on weekdays before 9.00am or during the afternoon peak, 4.00pm to 7.00pm.
  • Ticket is non-refundable.
  • Family fare deals are not available.
  • Ticket is not valid for nor guarantees venue entry.
  • Valid for train travel within the zone purchased only.
  • Tickets cannot be used for train travel to/from stations outside the Sydney Suburban area.
  • An additional station access fee applies for travel to/from Green Square, Mascot, Domestic and International Airport stations.
  • Tickets cannot be used on Sydney Buses, private bus services, ferry services, Sydney Monorail or the Metro Light Rail.
